Testing Methods:
With the exception of SiSoft Sandra, HD Tach and Lavalys Everest, all of our benchmarks have been engineered to give you numbers that you are likely to find useful when actually using the products we have evaluated in the real world.
As always, we did our best to deliver a clean set of benchmarks, with each test repeated three times and an average of those results is what we’re reporting here. In the rare case where performance was inconsistent, we continued repeating the test until we got three results that were consistent.
Test Setup:
- Jetway NC92-330-LF with an Atom 330 CPU (2x1.6GHz with HyperThreading)
- Shuttle X27-D with an Intel Atom 330 CPU (2x1.6GHz with HyperThreading)
- Gigabyte GA-GC230D with an Intel Atom 230 CPU (1x1.6GHz with HyperThreading)
- Jetway JNC62K with an AMD Sempron LE-1200 CPU (1x2.1GHz)
- 2GB DDR2 533MHz at 3-3-3-9-2T (Intel Atom) or 800MHz at 5-5-5-18-2T (AMD).
- Enermax 285W mATX PSU
- Seagate 7200.10 200GB SATA hard drive
- Windows Vista 32-bit SP1

Curiously some read/write performance has been sacrificed for a much improved CPU copy performance. We tested with a 1GB and 2GB DDR2 DIMM, as well as changing the memory timings to see if made a difference and found it was a BIOS level feature. Memory performance approaching uniformity means there are no bottlenecks, despite sacrificing some performance in other areas. It also improves the latency as well by a considerable amount (20 to 30ns) compared to the other Atom products.

Sisoft Sandra is less forgiving, affording a lower score to the Jetway board, but also a massively lower latency as well.
